Sunman was a prominent area resident and a shareholder in the railroad. John Sunman helped the man who platted the town, James Vanness. The town was laid out with streets parallel to the railroad tracks. It grew into a popular trading center for area residents. The town has been expanding its horizons with the addition of the Metz industrial park, south of town on State Road 101. 96 acres, it is zoned I-1 and has existing infranstructure ready for business. |
