Solar spot lights are used to highlight a garden feature, or light a specific area. Many are integrally wired, with a single solar cell gathering power for several lights. This allows the floodlights to be placed in sunless areas a short distance away.

The lighting angle on a solar spot light can be controlled for various lighting effects. You can use them for silhouetting, cross lighting, up-lighting or down-lighting. Spot lights may use either LED or halogen. LED's would provide a softer, more romantic effect. Halogen lights would provide a brighter light. Spot lights focus in on a smaller area like a flashlight, so they would not be a good area lighting source.

Use solar spot lights to illuminate statuary, a unique plant or garden feature.
