Golden Sedum
Sedum kamtschaticum
Golden Sedum has a bright yellow flower in early June. It is a rather low growing perennial sedum
which does well in hot dry locations. Low growing at around six to nine inches tall, it makes a fine
ground cover.
It is hardy from USDA Zones 3 - 9 and blooms here in southeastern Indiana in early June.
Like all sedums this lovely yellow one has a spreading habit which allows it to cover the ground with
its light green succulent stems as it creeps among the taller perennials. It is native to east
Asia.
Golden Sedum may be propagated by divisions, cuttings, or layering. Seed can also sometimes be found.
This is germinated in a sandy mix after the weather has warmed.
